The Saltmarsh Management Manual aims to assist coastal and estuarine managers in the identification of the problems or management needs that a saltmarsh may have (such as maintenance, restoration or enhancement) and the determination of an appropriate management response.
It describes what saltmarsh is and why it is important, the factors leading to change and provides details of saltmarsh management techniques to maintain or restore nature conservation interest, to manage erosion or accretion and to create new habitat.
This information is presented in two ways. Firstly, through a series of sections that take the reader through the above (see the contents list to the left of this page) and, secondly, through a user driven series of questions and answers that can be accessed through the buttons below.
